Yna Visser has been a nurse, nurse tutor and the director/manager of a variety of Dutch care homes for frail elderly and people with dementia. Many Dutch care homes are ‘combi care homes’. They offer residential-type care, assisted living, and nursing Home and palliative care, all in one setting.
They are large by UK standards. That means that caregiving staff needs skills to help people with different types of dementing illnesses in all stages of illness. In this interview Yna speaks about:
